3. OG Anunoby

Having a breakout season doesn’t necessarily mean transforming into an MVP candidate from dusk to dawn. When it comes to OG, the departure of Kawhi could be a make-or-break kind of opportunity for his career.

OG certainly lacks an offensive spark of any kind, having averaged 7.0 points per game during the 2018-19 season. Then again, the same story was told last year about Pascal Siakam, a legend that continues to grow

Defensively, though, Anunoby’s case is a completely different one, where he makes up for whatever offensive void he might carry with him. Let’s not forget his battling games against LeBron James in the 2018 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals where head coach Dwane Casey entrusted him with guarding one of the best players to ever set foot on a basketball court.

In Kawhi’s absence, Anunoby can once again become the team’s starting small forward, a spot once held by him, before the arrival of The Klaw.

It is still unknown whether Nick Nurse will select Anunoby as the person to fill Kawhi’s shoes or not. New arrivals Stanley Johnson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson might come into play when deciding the team’s go-to small forward for the season. OG is now more experienced than before, more hungry and most importantly, after missing most of the 2019 playoffs with an appendectomy, healthy.
