6. Cameron Reynolds signing

Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, former Minnesota Timberwolves wing Cameron Reynolds agreed to a two-way contract with the Bucks on Thursday afternoon.

Serving as either an insurance policy in the backcourt or as a productive member of the Bucks’ G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, this move makes a lot of sense.

In 19 games last year with Minnesota, Reynolds averaged 5.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Those numbers extrapolate to 13.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per 36 minutes.

That stat line isn’t anything to write home about, but for a rookie getting his first taste of NBA action, it’s respectable.

The most impressive trait Reynolds displayed was his ability to shoot from deep. Canning 41.2 percent of his 51 3-point attempts in 19 games, the former Tulane standout was a sniper. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as that figure was 37.2 percent over his last two years in college.

At 24 years of age, Reynolds almost surely hasn’t reached his ceiling as a player yet. He has great size for a shooting guard (6-foot-8, 225 pounds) that will play to his advantage and allow him to play multiple positions if needed.

Reynolds’ role on this year’s Bucks team likely won’t be more than an end-of-the-rotation piece but nonetheless, his profile is interesting.
