Grand Winner: LA Clippers

In a league shaking move, the LA Clippers traded for Paul George and landed Kawhi Leonard in the same night. This seismic exchange will change the NBA for the foreseeable future and should have made the Clippers favorites to win the title.

Let’s start with Leonard. Last season, Kawhi reminded everyone how talented he was. Averaging 30.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in the playoffs, Leonard displayed a legendary impact on both offense and defense as he led Toronto to their first-ever championship.

Back in Oklahoma, George showed his own talent as an elite two-way player. Being nominated for both MVP and DPOY, George had a 14-game stretch in which he put up 36.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.2 steals per game.

Together, George and Leonard will be the greatest two-way duo in NBA history. However, this Clippers team goes far deeper than just PG and Kawhi.

The three-time Sixth Man of the Year, Lou Williams, will provide scoring and playmaking off of the bench. Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell are the junkyard dog defenders of the NBA while Landry Shamet is one of the most efficient 3-point shooters in the league.

This squad took a fully healthy Golden State Warriors team to six games last year strictly off of their depth and heart alone.

Now, this Clippers team has arguably the most star power in the league. With an unbelievably tough defensive lineup and explosive scoring, it’s going to be very tough to stop the Clippers.
