2. For a star frontcourt

With the departure of Paul George and Russell Westbrook, the writing seems to be on the wall for Steven Adams.

Adams was a key player for the Thunder last season, and he had the best season statistically of his career, averaging 13.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. All of those stats, except for blocks, are career highs.

The Timberwolves are at a lack of Power Forwards in their depth this season, and adding Adams to play alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, could cure that.

The Wolves have added Jordan Bell, who had a great season with the Golden State Warriors,  as a backup for the 4 spot for next season and having him on the bench behind Adams could give the Wolves some consistent production from the low post.

Adams also seems to be on his way to his prime, not past it. He’s gotten better with every year he’s played, and he’s played well considering his draft position in the late lottery of 2013.

He also hasn’t proved much to be an injury risk, missing only 25 games over his six-year career, and he missed just two games last season, despite averaging the most minutes he’s ever played.

It might take a little more than just Andrew Wiggins to part with Adams, but another future draft pick for a front office who seem to be collecting them like stamps at this point could be enough to convince them to trade the New Zealand big man.
