1.  The young core are set up for success

As exciting as it is to have this many young and promising players on a roster, you still need a lot more in order to succeed. If the players do not have the right atmosphere and people around them, then they may never reach their full potential.

So, David Griffin and the front office went to work to find the right guys to fill out the roster.

The two significant moves they made was signing sharp-shooter J.J. Redick to a two-year deal worth $26.5 million and acquiring big man Derrick Favors from the Utah Jazz in exchange for two future second-round draft picks.

These two players not only help the team in aspects such as outside shooting and interior defense, but they are two great locker room guys.

Redick has had a good reputation wherever he goes, most recently with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he seemed to get along very well with the young core that they have in place there.

Favors also has a good rep, as his former teammates in Utah had nothing but great things to say about him and what a great teammate he was.

With all of these young players being in their early 20s and some still teenagers, having some guys around them to set a good example and show them how to be a consummate pro in this league can really help them in their development.

With Redick, Favors, and also returning guard Jrue Holiday being able to play alongside and mentor these young guys, it should help them immensely.
