With 2019 NBA Summer League coming to an end, Jordan Murphy is one player who could bring something valuable to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With a win over the Miami Heat on July 10, the Minnesota Timberwolves stayed undefeated in the 2019 NBA Summer League, and will go on to the playoff bracket for the summer. Even in Summer League, that’s a win for a team that’s had trouble making the postseason, going to the playoffs just one time in the last 15 years.

With free agency not really returning on the promises fans had hoped for, the Timberwolves are going to be looking elsewhere for the few players who could elevate the team enough to keep making the postseason. The Wolves are always in need of more defense, and currently find themselves with a lack of depth at the 4 and 5 positions. One of the players who could help Minnesota on both of those fronts is Jordan Murphy.

Murphy played for four years with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, and then went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. Now, with Summer League winding down, Murphy has shown the skill he has and proven that he belongs at least on a G League roster, if not on the bench of an NBA team.
