4. Denver Nuggets

Livingston has played for nine NBA teams. That’s nearly a third of the league. The Denver Nuggets aren’t one of those teams — yet.

Livingston to the Nuggets makes a lot of sense. He’d stay in the Western Conference, where he’s been most successful, on a competing team. The Nuggets are extremely young and could use the veteran leadership. Plus, they need a backup point guard with 3-point marksman Jamal Murray in the starting lineup.

Apart from experience, Livingston brings something else the Nuggets’ backcourt lacks: size. Murray and Gary Harris are 6’4″. Monte Morris is 6’3″. Will Barton is a slender 6’6″. Former first round pick Malik Beasley is 6’5″.  At 6’7″, Livingston would become the tallest guard in the team’s rotation the moment he signs with the team.

Livingston would give the Nuggets flexibility and they could likely use Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception or part of it (valued at $5.7 million) to sign him. It’s wise for young teams to add a dose of experience as they climb the rungs of the NBA hierarchy. Livingston is that dose. He’s a logical player Denver should pursue.
