2. Philadelphia 76ers

One of the best teams in the league a year ago, this offseason has been quite busy for the Philadelphia 76ers. General manager Elton Brand has been hard at work trying to figure out which pieces from 2018-19’s puzzle he wants to return for this season. It appears his mind is made up, as the team lost Jimmy Butler, J.J. Redick, T.J. McConnell and Boban Marjanovic.

Returning Tobias Harris, this time at small forward, and signing Al Horford to a four-year contract have been the two moves Philly can hang its hat on this offseason. Acquiring Josh Richardson for Jimmy Butler is also a welcomed addition in the form of defense and 3-point shooting on the wing.

Even more so than last season, depth is a major question mark for the Sixers. There are a plethora of shooting guards and centers to choose from, but next to nothing at either small forward or power forward. If NBA teams played their starters for all 48 minutes, Philadelphia would boast one of the scariest teams in the league. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.

Spending a lot of his time at power forward in the latter stages of his career, Anthony would be able to spell Horford when he needs a rest. Floor-spacing wouldn’t be sacrificed, although defense would be. At small forward, he could relieve Harris. Signing with Philadelphia wouldn’t just give him a chance to play, but play for a ring.
