5. Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson’s peak years were with the Houston Rockets. He was a great floor-spacer for a frontcourt player, and he could shoot from extremely deep. He doesn’t bring anything on the defensive end of the floor, but he would give the Pistons a different dynamic on offense that they don’t have currently. His career 38.0 percent 3-point mark would become the second-best mark on the team behind only shooting guard Luke Kennard.

Anderson was viewed as a “Sour ’16” after the mammoth contract he signed became one of the worst deals in the NBA as he was traded from team to team before he was finally bought out and waived. He likely wouldn’t cost the team a ton of money, but they would have to rescind the two aforementioned cap holds unless he was willing to sign for the veteran minimum.

Just two seasons ago, he was a solid role player that started a number of games for the Rockets. He still has the ability to shoot and space the floor, which is what guys like Andre Drummond, Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson need to play at their best. If he’s willing to take a cheap deal as a floor-spacer off the bench, he could make a lot of sense.
