With the New York Knicks likely to have made all of their free agency moves, what could the starting lineup actually be in 2019-20?

By trading away Kristaps Porzingis just a few days before the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline, the New York Knicks created the optimal conditions for this year’s free agency period.

With enough cap space to sign not one, but two max deals, the rumors that top-tier free agents were eyeing New York seemed to be getting even more prevalent. Add in a high draft pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and there seemed to be no reason for the Knicks to not sign at least one superstar free agent.

Unfortunately, not all stories have a happy ending. Specifically, in the mysterious case of the New York Knicks, no story seems to have a happy ending — not the story of the NBA Draft, nor the story of the 2019 NBA offseason.

Just like that, the Knicks were left with no Kevin Durant, no Kyrie Irving and no Zion Williamson. Instead, they were given Elfrid Payton, Wayne Ellington, Reggie Bullock, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis.

As the vast majority of the Knicks fanbase was dealing with its depression, the front office decided to fill the roster with quality role players, as well as a second-tier free agent in Julius Randle. In an offseason that failed to meet most people’s expectations, the bottom line is that these Knicks did just become a tad better.

As the Knicks slowly fill all 15 of their roster spots, here are three potential starting lineups for head coach David Fizdale to experiment with.
