Russell Westbrook may be changing teams soon with only a few landing spots that make sense. Here’s why the Chicago Bulls shouldn’t be an option for the All-Star guard.
So far the Chicago Bulls have moved steadily through the 2019 NBA offseason, adding Thaddeus Young, Luke Kornet and Tomas Satoransky via free agency and drafting point guard Coby White and big man Daniel Gafford.
These were all sensible transactions, perhaps even under-the-radar moves that could set the Bulls up for a playoff push next season. At this point, the youth movement is approaching season three and there should be little excuses for this team. Frankly, any improvement is progress following a 22-win season, but a postseason appearance shouldn’t be out of the question.
With that being said, shockwaves were sent through the NBA world when it was reported that Kawhi Leonard would sign with the Los Angeles Clippers and Paul George would join him after requesting a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The aftershocks of the George trade have been reverberating throughout the league ever since. There are plenty of rumors and discussions regarding the next shoe to drop in OKC. Specifically, what happens with Russell Westbrook? It seems it’s more a matter of when and where, not if, the Thunder will move the mercurial point guard.
