Kawhi Leonard has made his decision and will be joining the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019 NBA free agency. Here are the big winners and losers of that decision.

After almost a week of waiting and months upon months of speculation, the basketball world finally got its answer to the question of where Kawhi Leonard would be taking his talents in 2019 NBA free agency.

Choosing the Los Angeles Clippers, and ultimately bringing Paul George with him as a surprise addition, the two-time Finals MVP becomes the first reigning MVP to switch teams in free agency the following summer. Ultimately, the allure of building a super-team with the Los Angeles Lakers or running it back with the Toronto Raptors didn’t compare to being able to build his own contender with the better-run L.A. team.

Leonard’s decision was the last major domino to fall in free agency, with quite a few deals falling into place right after.

In the wake of this landscape-changing move, it’s time to take a look at the biggest winners and losers of Kawhi Leonard’s choice. The Clippers are pretty obvious winners, but the ripple effects of this decision will be felt far and wide around the NBA.
