1. The legend of Zion Williamson starts a new chapter

Was there really ever a doubt about who the must-see player would be? Given the impact of instant highlights and the reach of social media, it’s not hyperbole to suggestion Zion Williamson may be the most hyped incoming rookie in NBA history.

Fans have been waiting to see this once-in-a-generation talent on the NBA stage really since his days in high school. While not quite in the league just yet, the beauty of Summer League is that it offers the chance to go up not just against rookies and sophomores, but stiff competition in the form of journeymen ballplayers eager for their shot.

Zion famously brings a ridiculous 6’7” 284-pound frame to the table, having dominated his competition at every level, but that was against college kids. In his first taste going against grown men, it’ll be interesting to see whether Williamson’s strength is as big of an advantage as its been to him so far.

With the growth of Summer League on a continuous upwards trend, arenas have been packed to the brim on a nightly basis. Can you imagine the type of crowd this kid is going to draw whenever it’s his turn to hit the court? Or better yet, what’s the reaction going to be when he throws down his first jam?

He’s a highlight waiting to happen with an endearing personality already on a first-name basis around the league. Zion’s actual NBA debut is still a few months away, but for a guy of this magnitude who we haven’t seen play since late March, any taste of his greatness is good enough for now.
