Nene Hilario

Nene is by no means a focal point for the Rockets heading into next season, but it’ll be interesting to see what his value is as a free agent. Could he make more on the open market? The 36-year-old has been a mainstay with the Rockets for three seasons, but his production has been decreasing significantly.

He is a solid locker room guy and veteran presence for the younger players, which is more than a few reasons for him to stay in Houston.

The one thing about the NBA is it seems like anyone can get paid these days. Nene could be out for a bigger payday regardless of where he lands as someone still very much capable of imposing his will inside for spurts at a time.

Nene could stick with the Rockets and hope for a chance at an NBA title, or make his way to a less than promising team willing to pay him more to stick it out. Either way, Nene comes out winning, but it will be interesting to see how this plays out depending on what he’s looking for in the final stages of his career.

Verdict: Nene should stick it out in Houston
