George Hill: 3 years, $29 million (Milwaukee Bucks)

After the Milwaukee Bucks were unwilling to dive headfirst into the luxury tax by matching a four-year, $85 million offer for Malcolm Brogdon, re-signing George Hill became imperative. That desperation is somewhat reflected in the amount the 33-year-old received, as three years and $29 million is no light investment.

However, Hill was also the best option to use to replace Brogdon’s steady backcourt presence. He upped his game in the postseason, even stealing minutes from Eric Bledsoe as he averaged 11.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on .534/.417/.818 shooting splits over 15 playoff games.

If that’s the George Hill the Bucks will be getting, they’ll be in good shape. However, it’s hard to feel too good about this decision in the wake of losing Brogdon, especially with Hill’s age and past issues with consistency during the regular season.

Grade: B-
