Noah Vonleh: 1 year, $2 million (Minnesota Timberwolves)

Say what you will about the disappointment of missing out on D’Angelo Russell or not being able to move Andrew Wiggins as promised, but the Minnesota Timberwolves getting Noah Vonleh on a salary just above the veteran minimum is damn good work.

Though he’s already been in the league for five years now, Vonleh is just 23 years old, and is coming off the best season of his career. In an extended role with the New York Knicks last year, he posted a career-high 8.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, shooting 47 percent from the floor and 33.6 percent from 3-point range.

While he’s not a reliable stretch-big by any means, Vonleh flashed the kind of potential teams had been waiting on for years now. The Wolves could use some frontcourt depth with Taj Gibson, Anthony Tolliver and Dario Saric gone, so snagging a capable and young 4 like Vonleh for such a cheap price is quite a savvy move.
