Boban Marjanovic: 2 years, $7 million (Dallas Mavericks)

Whether this deal comes out of the Dallas Mavericksroom mid-level remains to be seen, but either way, one of the NBA’s more lovable figures is coming to bolster the center rotation in Big D at an affordable price.

Boban Marjanovic, he of NBA and John Wick 3 lore, is often a matchup-dependent player. His unplayability in key games and in the playoffs has been well-documented by now, and at 30 years old, it’s highly unlikely anything’s going to change mobility-wise for a 7’3″ behemoth.

However, Boban is also one of the most fun personalities and presences in the league. He excels in certain matchups, provides solid depth as a backup or a third-string big, and it’s a short-term deal that unites him with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis to form one of the most entertaining international trios in the league. This is fun. Let’s not overthink it.
