Raul Neto: 1 year, $1.6 million (Philadelphia 76ers)

Philadelphia 76ers fans might still be a bit bummed about T.J. McConnell playing elsewhere next year, but in all honesty, Raul Neto should prove to be an upgrade — especially on a veteran minimum contract.

Often overlooked as the third string point guard for the Utah Jazz, Neto was a steady presence when he got minutes, even if his 5.3 points and 2.5 assists in 12.8 minutes per game last year painted the picture of a benchwarmer. His impressive on/off-court numbers paint an entirely different picture, however, and he’s a career 37.7 percent shooter from 3-point range.

At this point in free agency, the Sixers are doing well to land a guy like Neto to help address their remaining roster holes. As long as he can stay healthy, he has a clear path to the backup point guard job, where he’ll get to show what he can really do on a team that will find itself in the spotlight quite often.
