JaMychal Green: 2 years, $9.8 million (Los Angeles Clippers)
At the full room exception, the Los Angeles Clippers continue to pad their depth by bringing back JaMychal Green, a name that’s sort of fallen off the map since his time with the Memphis Grizzlies despite being a legitimate NBA rotation player. At this price, he’s an absolute steal for a team that just added Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to its ranks.
In 24 games with the Clippers last year, Green posted 8.7 points and 6.5 rebounds in just 19.6 minutes per game, shooting a tidy 48.2 percent from the floor and 41.2 percent from deep. He’s an efficient floor-spacer, solid defender, terrific rebounder and capable finisher around the basket.
The Clippers won’t need Green to do too much, but he’s a versatile piece who can do a little bit of everything and do most of it very well. He’s the type of role player teams need for title quests, and at such a meager cost, this is an excellent depth move.
