Los Angeles Lakers: 3 former LeBron James teammates to target in free agency

3. Jeff Green
During the Cavs’ run to the 2018 NBA Finals, Jeff Green was at times the team’s second-best player.
Most notably was when the versatile veteran forward stepped into the starting lineup when Kevin Love had to miss Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Green produced 19 points and eight rebounds to help Cleveland pull out a victory on the road in Boston.
Green averaged 12.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game for the Washington Wizards last season, making him one of the few consistent performers on a team that was racked by injuries.
The Lakers might have to work a little harder to convince Green to sign. After moving around a lot in his NBA career, he’s said that he’d like to return to the Wizards, his hometown team.
With the Lakers, however, Green could have another chance to play in the NBA Finals and win his first championship.
He’s not a great shooter, connecting on 33.3 percent on 3-pointers for his career, but he’s good enough in that area and brings some defense to the table. Green is the right kind of affordable veteran that the Lakers need to fill out their roster.
