1. He’s one of the top clutch performers in the NBA

Despite drawing on and off criticism for his shot selection throughout the years, the man known to many as Jimmy Buckets is arguably one of the NBA’s top performers come money time.

Over the last several seasons, Butler has hit a string of game-winning shots within the final five seconds of the fourth quarter or overtime. He’s shown that he can come through for his team on both ends of the floor, as Butler’s ability to generate stops and live up to his nickname when it counts has helped make him an instant fan favorite across the league.

During the 2019 NBA Playoffs, Butler ranked fifth among all players in clutch scoring, averaging 4.7 points per game on 50 percent shooting in postseason games decided by five points or less in the final five minutes of either the fourth quarter or overtime.

"“I don’t care how many points I score, how many shots I shoot,” Butler told Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “I’m all for winning. I’m not worried about being an All-Star … any of that stuff. “I think winning takes care of everything.”"

Although it remains to be seen what it will take for the Rockets to pry him away from the City of Brotherly Love, Butler’s ability to rise up in the waning seconds of regulation would make him the quintessential fit for the team that resides in Clutch City.

This could prove to be extremely vital during the dog days of the regular season and the playoffs, as Butler’s presence — combined with his zest for defending the best player and take the big shot — could be just what Houston needs to finally capture the Larry O’Brien Trophy once again.
