1. Phoenix Suns

While not on MacMahon’s aforementioned list of teams, there’s still plenty of buzz surrounding the Phoenix Suns and their reported interest in Beverley.

On a very recent episode of The Lowe Post podcast, Brian Windhorst of ESPN stated the following:

"“Beverley’s never been paid….this is his one opportunity to shine in the sun….I think the Phoenix Suns are the team that are really interested in him.”"

Adding Beverley would make sense on a number of levels for the Suns. Immediately, the soon-to-be 31-year-old Beverley would add a great amount of leadership both on the court and in the locker room. With the starting lineup expected to feature Devin Booker (22), Deandre Ayton (20), recently acquired Dario Saric (25) and current free agent Kelly Oubre Jr. (23), Beverley’s level of experience would prove to be invaluable.

Furthermore, the names mentioned here are certainly not known for their capabilities at the defensive end of the floor. In conjunction with new head coach Monty Williams, Beverley would provide incredible value by demonstrating to his teammates just how hard he plays at the defensive end, with the hope it would rub off on the rest of the team.

Considering the Suns’ sufficient cap space, and the need for a reliable backcourt partner for Booker, offering Beverley a 2-3 year deal in the $12-15 million range per season seems more than reasonable. When taking into account their current situation, and their desperate need for so many of his best attributes, a Beverley-Suns partnership moving forward makes the most sense of all the teams mentioned.
