4. Los Angeles Lakers

Now that the Los Angeles Lakers officially have enough cap room necessary to sign a max-level free agent, it’s looking less and less likely they sign a non-max player. While adding Brogdon and another quality piece to the mix may be a better idea to build a more complete team, having three top five players in the starting lineup is a frightening prospect.

If L.A. does go the Brogdon route, it would be getting a perfect complementary piece to both LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Able to handle the ball, shoot and defend at a high level, Brogdon’s a textbook James-type sidekick.

With a chance to learn from one of the game’s all-time greats and compete for a championship immediately, the Lakers are an attractive destination to just about any impending free agent. Brogdon is likely no different.

The cap situation has been improved. There’s a clear path to both a starting spot and an important role on offense. The off-court perks are as good as possible in Los Angeles. Playing alongside James and Davis is a huge bonus. If things fall through in their pursuit of marquee names such as Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard, expect the Lakers to make a strong push for Brogdon.
