With Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker officially entering 2019 NBA Free Agency on June 30, here are five potential landing spots for the All-Star.
As if the last few months and weeks leading up to the start of the 2019 NBA free agency period weren’t busy enough, Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker might be joining the long list of star players looking for a new home for the upcoming season.
With his contract expiring following the 2018-19 campaign, Walker is set to be an unrestricted free agent when the signing period begins at 6 p.m. ET on June 30.
Among the numerous rumors swirling around the league, Walker’s name has popped up and has been thrown around as a top target for multiple teams.
Over his eight-year career thus far, the point guard has averaged 19.8 points, 5.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game in a total of 605 contests with the Hornets. He holds career shooting percentages of 41.8 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from beyond the arc and 83.5 percent from the free throw line.
At just 28 years old and set to turn 29 in December, Walker is still very much in the middle of his prime and has put together three straight All-Star seasons as we approach the new year.
His ability to boost a team on the offensive end, along with the fact that he is still young enough to be considered in the middle of his career, is bound to make him a top target for many teams looking to add to their roster at the 1-spot.
Will Walker end up working things out in Charlotte to stay with the only team he’s played for in his NBA career, or will be bolt to join a new team for the next few seasons?
With free agency officially kicking off this weekend, let’s take a look at five potential landing spots for Walker as he decides where he wants to continue his NBA career.
