Tyler Lydon

Of the four players we’re talking about today, Tyler Lydon played the fewest minutes on the team, and it wasn’t particularly close. He logged just 94 minutes, and wasn’t exactly stuffing the stat sheet during that time. He took just 18 shots, and he played mostly in garbage time. The main thing that Lydon has going for him is that he’s going to be cheap to keep him in the fold, and he’s young at a position where Denver isn’t particularly deep.

The Nuggets could be losing two rotation players from their frontcourt based on the decisions they make with some players that we’ll be looking at later. Lydon spent the majority of the year in the G League, but he does still have some NBA experience. He’d give them a third power forward off the bench behind guys like Juancho Hernangomez and Torrey Craig, as the team is likely going to play more small-ball next season.

Lydon made just $1.7 million last season, and that’s likely all it would cost to keep him in the fold next season. He’s not likely to be a hot commodity, so they could wait to sign him if they find no better options on the market. In all likelihood though, after two seasons in which he’s put up just 23 total points, the Nuggets will likely look to let Lydon go.

Verdict: Sell
