After a disappointing end to what was supposed to be a storybook ending for the 2018-19 Golden State Warriors, sharpshooter Klay Thompson enters an offseason of uncertainty. Here are his best options in 2019 NBA free agency.

Klay Thompson may very well be the second most valuable shooting guard in the league outside of James Harden, and some may argue that Thompson’s on-court production and two-way capabilities allow him to match Harden in value. So naturally, any team with enough money to offer him the max contract he is undoubtedly worth will be lining up at his door this summer, ready to make him an integral part of a new dynasty.

However, Klay has given no indication to the Golden State Warriors nor members of the media that he has any intentions of leaving the dynasty he’s helped create.

Nevertheless, it’s fun to speculate.

With the castrating injuries that the Golden State Warriors suffered in their trek towards their fifth consecutive NBA Finals appearance, the field of “competition” has been balanced. More importantly, the injuries have given teams incentive on the precipice of becoming legitimate title contenders to make win-now moves, rather than the laid-back, idle approach many general managers are accused of taking.

With a myriad of top-tier free agents opting out of their deals in order to enter free agency like reigning finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson’s teammate Kevin Durant and the all too confusing Kyrie Irving, the NBA is ready for a major face-lift. Klay Thompson may very well be the surprise acquisition of the offseason, but in order to sort it out, here are his top free agency options.
