The New York Knicks selected R.J. Barrett with the third pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, and excitement rightfully surrounds the young shooting guard.

In the 2019 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks decided not to mess everything up and went ahead with drafting R.J. Barrett from Duke with the third overall selection. Barrett definitely seems like an elite talent, making Knicks fans really excited about the future for once.

After cheering for the worst team in the NBA with a record of 17-65, most Knicks fans had their hearts set on Zion Williamson, Barrett’s teammate at Duke. Though their dream was ultimately left unfulfilled, most fans seem happy enough with Barrett.

Being New York’s highest draft selection since Patrick Ewing in 1985, it is now up to Barrett to turn things around in the Big Apple.
