3. Julius Randle

This brute force has been making waves since his HoopMixtape glory days in high school. Though it took him some time to blossom into a borderline star at the NBA level, Julius Randle is on the rise.

Making the decision to leave the Los Angeles Lakers and take on a bigger role in New Orleans wasn’t an easy one for Randle. He decided to bet on his own talents and attempt to really strive as a player. This bet worked out well for Randle, who put up a career-high 21.4 points per game. He displayed his all-around talents by filling in the stat sheet with 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game as well.

The Pelicans elected to give Randle a ton of freedom within their offense. He was allowed to bring up the ball frequently and feeding him the ball in the high post was one of their main plays. Randle made the most of his opportunities and showed that bully ball can still be effective in today’s NBA.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have already hinted that they will be playing a run-and-gun style of basketball this year. Randle seems like a good fit for this, as he is capable of taking the ball from one end of the floor to the other for a bucket. Not many players of his size are as agile and quick as him. This signing would make for a fun dynamic between Collin Sexton, Darius Garland and Cedi Osman.

Of course, Randle will likely be looking for a huge payday after his breakout season in New Orleans. If this is the case, the Cavaliers have every reason to offer this 24-year-old a big contract.
