9. Bobby Portis

This 6’11” forward wasted little time becoming a stretch-4 in the league. Bobby Portis has steadily improved his game each season and is on the verge of being an All-Star caliber player.

In his fourth NBA season, at 23 years old, Portis averaged 14.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. He proved to be an effective scorer, shooting 39.3 percent from deep and 44.4 percent from the floor overall. His ability to shoot from deep combined with his exceptional rebounding skill makes him a valuable asset in today’s league.

Right now, the Cleveland Cavaliers have Kevin Love as their best option for this role. Adding in Portis would deepen their rotation and be huge when Love inevitably misses a few games due to injury. Furthermore, this even opens up the option for Cleveland to trade Love away for more assets.

There is no telling if Portis has already reached his ceiling or not. However, for such a young player to display these type of talents, it might be worth it for the Cavaliers to make him an offer … assuming he’s not as expensive as recent reports suggest he might become.
