2. Age and maturity

Recent Sixers draft picks, most notably first-rounders, have all followed paths much too common to one another’s. They either seldom appeared in games during their rookie campaigns, or simply none at all. That likely won’t be the case with Thybulle. In short, he is a play-now player eager to make a strong impact on a win-now team.

Thybulle’s hard-nosed mentality on the floor, and his laid-back nature off it should mix well with the personalities on this Sixers squad. You can all but guarantee there won’t be any initial locker room drama or bad blood between this like-minded roster. Bear in mind, this is a franchise and city known for embracing its newcomers. A draft pick like Thybulle should have no shortage of patrons in South Philly next season.

No matter who re-signs or signs with the team this summer, it’s hard not to see a scenario where Thybulle doesn’t work his way into the wing rotation. Elton Brand noted in the post-draft presser it will “eventually” happen.
