1. Pure shooter
The most impressive thing about Darius Garland is his shooting. In a league where the need for 3-point shooters is forever increasing, Garland has a talent that will keep him valuable for many years.
Garland has an incredible handle with the ball and excels at getting his shot off from anywhere on the court. He can pull up from deep if need be, but is also versatile enough to sprint around screens and drill catch-and-shoot opportunities.
Last season, Garland drilled 2.0 shots a game from deep on 47.8 percent shooting. He has a super quick release that makes him nearly impossible to contest when you combine it with his shifty dribble moves.
There is no telling how quickly Garland will find his rhythm in the NBA, but we have no reason to believe he will struggle from deep. The 3-point shot has become the most valuable talent in the league and this just so happens to be Garland’s greatest strength.
