3. Will Danny Green be in Toronto next year?

Danny Green was part of the trade that brought Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs, but those who thought he was just going to be a footnote in this exchange were sorely mistaken.

For starters, Green averaged 10.3 points per contest, which was the third-highest scoring output of his 10-year career. Secondly, he averaged 4.0 rebounds per outing – the second-highest average of his career.

Additionally, Green’s overall 46.5 shooting percentage is the second-best mark of his career and his 45.5 percent conversion rate from downtown was the highest of his career. While he only averaged 7.3 points per contest in the Finals, he did have a couple of memorable moments from that series.

In Game 1, Green chipped in with 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting, going 3-for-7 from 3-point range in the Raptors’ 118-109 victory. In Game 3, he scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds as Toronto came away with a 123-109 victory to take a 2-1 series lead.

Green and Leonard have played alongside each other since 2011, and while Green wouldn’t object to being in a Raptors uniform next season, he also understands how Leonard’s free agency decision could impact the organization.

It will be interesting to see if Green and Leonard opt to remain in Toronto or go their separate ways.
