1. Los Angeles Lakers

When taking into account all factors, Redick to the Lakers appears to be the most likely and feasible partnership of all.

Following the blockbuster acquisition of Anthony Davis, the Lakers are most likely going to have between $24-28 million in cap space, assuming the deal is completed on July 6. If that’s the case, the Lakers are clearly not going to be in a position to make a run at some of the other leading free agents such as Kyrie Irving and Kemba Walker.

Given the fact the Lakers are clearly in win-now mode, and are in desperate need of shooting, Redick fits the bill on a number of levels. Following their disastrous free agency period of 2018, when they decided to surround LeBron James with players like Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and Michael Beasley, it’s more than apparent this strategy will be amended this summer.

Furthermore, given Redick’s incredible success working alongside Embiid, the chance to work alongside another dominant big in Davis would make for a terrific fit. Last season, Embiid assisted on 102 of Redick’s baskets over the course of the regular season, not far behind the 139 assisted by point guard Ben Simmons.

Despite the presence of James, the Lakers finished a disastrous 29th in 3-point percentage last season. Considering that in James’ final four years with the Cleveland Cavaliers the team finished no lower than seventh in the league in this department, this is clearly a number that raises significant alarm bells.

Overall, working under the assumption that he doesn’t return to the Sixers, the Lakers clearly represent the most viable option for Redick and his search for an elusive title.
