3. Pascal Siakam is just getting started

Easily the most pleasant surprise of the season, watching Pascal Siakam on the floor was a blessing ever since this NBA season tipped off.

Throughout the 2019 NBA Finals, Siakam was the perfect Robin to Kawhi’s Batman. Whenever Leonard seemed to struggle, Spicy P picked up the pace, leading the Raptors to some easy buckets in the paint.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate Siakam’s first game in the Finals. He finished Game 1 with 32 points on 14-of-17 shooting from the field. He was the first player to score 30 points on 80 percent shooting from the field in the championship round since the great Shaquille O’Neal, and his 11 consecutive field goals made were the most in these past 20 years.

Bound to win the Most Improved Player award, Siakam is heading towards the top. It is incredibly difficult to envision the 2019-20 Raptors team where Spicy P would not have an even more important role on the team, as coach Nurse seems to trust the third-year power forward.
