4. This was basically a 3-9-month-old team

It is incredibly rare seeing a newly formed team go that far during a playoff run. Take LeBron James and his Big 3 with the Miami Heat, for example. They needed some time to acclimate themselves to playing together before they went on to win championships.

These Toronto Raptors could’ve easily been the result of a teenager playing MyLeague mode in NBA 2K19. This doesn’t mean the moves made by Masai Ujiri were not executed perfectly. But it’s not very common to see a 59-win team fire its head coach and make two blockbuster trades, all in the same season, and then go on to win it all.

Nevertheless, these moves proved to have no negative effect on team chemistry whatsoever, as this group of “units” would quickly turn into a team.

By giving it even more time, things can only get better. These Raptors are filled with drama-less personalities, meaning that altercations within the team would be an exceptionally unrealistic occurrence.

The 2018-19 Toronto Raptors seemed like a well-oiled machine. Whether it was defensively or offensively, everybody played a major part in accomplishing the ultimate goal of bringing Canada to the Promise Land. With more chemistry and time together, that goal gets easier to achieve.
