With their 2018-19 NBA season wrapped up, the Brooklyn Nets will head into the offseason with work to do as they look to build upon a solid campaign.

Despite losing in five games to the Philadelphia 76ers during the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs, the Brooklyn Nets have plenty to be proud about.

After failing to win 40 or more games since 2014, including a stretch that saw the team go 69-177 over three seasons, the Nets battled their way to a 42-40 record this year. Not only was this good enough to earn them the 6-seed in the Eastern Conference, but they managed to steal a game on the road against a Sixers team not short on star power.

Brooklyn’s sudden ascension somewhat mirrors its first round foe’s rise to success over the last few seasons. This Nets team is still young, though, and just now taking the next step after a brutal rebuild. With many of the right pieces in place, the core is set up for the future, but the work is not done. There are still roster holes that need that need filling and a hectic offseason ahead.

With the potential to lure in at least one top-tier free agent and the ability to clear enough cap to bring in two, there are a million ways this offseason could play out for the Brooklyn Nets. As they prepare to make the most of this summer, here are five strong takeaways from their 2018-19 campaign to keep in mind.
