4. Patrick Beverley

This seems pretty obvious, doesn’t it? The Bulls need a point guard and love to bring hometown heroes home. Beverley, who once averaged 37.3 points per game as a high school senior in Chicago, happens to be a free agent.

Perhaps he’ll be the next Chicago legend to come home, and maybe he’d have better results than Jabari Parker’s ill-fated return last offseason.

For starters, Beverley likes playing defense. He’s tough as nails and won’t back down. In the playoffs this spring he took on the challenge of defending the much taller Kevin Durant. Reminder, Pat Bev is just over six feet tall while Durant is a seven-footer. That says it all in terms of what type of motor Beverley has.

He averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while shooting 39.7 percent shooting from 3-point range this past season. Beverley would bring a tenacity that this team is sorely lacking, as he’s the perfect embodiment of a Jim Boylen-John Paxson point guard. Hey, he might even do an extra push-up or two in practice.
