3. Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown has one year remaining on his rookie deal worth roughly $6.5 million. Brown has been one of the most highly anticipated players on the Celtics roster for several years now.

In the 2016 NBA Draft, Brown was the third overall pick and was primed to be a superstar. At 6’7″ with a 7’0″ wingspan, he had the physical build to be an elite offensive and defensive player at the NBA level.

Still just 22 years old, Brown has shown he is on track to be great on both ends of the floor. Last season, he averaged 13.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 25.9 minutes per game. Brown is also a solid 3-point shooter at 36.5 percent on his career.

Set to be a restricted free agent next offseason, Brown will demand quite a large payday. He has proven that he could one day be one of the best shooting guards in the NBA. If the Boston Celtics are going to look to acquire a superstar via trade this summer, Brown will more than likely have to be part of the trade package.

As one of the most desirable pieces on the team, trading Brown should only be considered if it is a trade for a proven star. Being proactive and trading him for someone who can make a major impact next season while also avoiding re-signing him to a major contract should be something for Boston to explore.
