2. Abundance of tradable assets

The 2018-19 season was a strange one for the Cleveland Cavaliers. On the court, they were one of the worst teams in the league. As for their front office, they made some of the best decisions they could have made.

A number of different trades were made, all bringing in assets that can help the team in the long run. Multiple drafts picks and a few younger players were already brought in through trades, but the Cavs still have enough assets to make even more deals.

Cleveland has plenty of players to consider trading. From the All-Star Kevin Love to the blooming Collin Sexton, the Cavaliers can package any of their players in a trade as none of them is really talented enough to be off limits at this point. Meanwhile, the stockpile of draft picks that they have acquired makes it possible for them to add a sweetener to any potential deal.

The Cavaliers would obviously love to keep their core of Love, Sexton, Larry Nance Jr. and Cedi Osman intact. Possibly packaging players such as Jordan Clarkson, J.R. Smith, Ante Zizic or Tristan Thompson into a deal with a few draft picks could be enough to get the job done and bring in a valuable return.
