After the most successful season in seven years, the Orlando Magic need to make the 2019 NBA offseason really count.

The Orlando Magic had a year to remember this season, clinching a playoff spot and finishing 42-40 on their way to the Southeast Division crown. As relevant as they’ve been in a long time, they now need to make this offseason count as they continue building.

There are many ways they can do this, and none may end up being as important as the decisions they make on which impending free agents of their own they should bring back. Both Nikola Vucevic and Terrence Ross are unrestricted free agents who will attract interest from other teams.

One big issue the Magic addressed last summer, which has created more stability for the organization, was sorting out their coaching situation. Steve Clifford came over from the Charlotte Hornets and did a great job in year one.

He also created an identity in Orlando based around defensive play, and this means that when it comes to potential players they want to sign and draft, a blueprint is already in place as to what guys will fit within their system.

This was the first step in their rebuild, and thanks to a smart front office that has flown under the radar, they have put the Magic in position to at least be competitive with what kinds of players they can attract this summer. With a solid draft history behind them as well, they seemed primed to make the next step. Here are three ways they can achieve this in the offseason.
