Brooklyn Nets: 2018-19 player grades for D’Angelo Russell

Final Grade
The 2018-19 season was by far the best of D’Angelo Russell’s career. Posting career-highs in minutes played in a game, points in a game, assists in a game, steals in a game, 3-pointers made in a game, and field goals made in a game, Russell showed the entire NBA that he put in major work last summer.
Making his very first NBA All-Star Game, his hard work paid off, and his on-court play did not go unnoticed by fans, players and the media, who all vote on who makes these teams. Being the best player on a playoff team is no easy task. Leading the team in both points and assists per game, Russell was the heart and soul of Brooklyn’s offense.
When evaluating D’Angelo Russell’s season, there are very few negatives about it. He really took that next step and showed why he was one of the top picks in the 2015 NBA Draft. If he is able to take one more big step and get paired with another star this summer, the Brooklyn Nets could truly be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference in the 2019-20 NBA season.
Although there were one or two things Russell could have been better at, his season grade should be just one step below perfect.
