The 2018-19 season was an unexpected surprise for the Los Angeles Clippers, one filled to the brim with moments that shocked the NBA world.

The Los Angeles Clippers came into the 2018-19 campaign free from championship expectations for the first time in a while. Not since the 2007-08 season did neither DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin nor Chris Paul reside on the roster. With all three now playing elsewhere, it was officially a new era of Clippers basketball.

Without so much as a single All-Star, many expected L.A. to cower in the shadow of its Staples Center counterpart, the Los Angeles Lakers. The purple and gold had acquired the preeminent free agent that summer in LeBron James and were expected to reclaim their place atop the NBA hierarchy.

Not only did the Clippers upstage the Lakers, but they also took the entire league by storm. Most had them pegged for a sub-40 win season. Instead, they improved on their 42-40 mark from the previous year enough to finish with 48 wins, leapfrogging a number of supposed postseason locks to snag the eighth and final playoff spot in the brutally competitive Western Conference.

All season long, L.A.’s other team continuously impressed with an effort level unmatched by just about every other team. Upon trading leading scorer Tobias Harris near the deadline, everyone thought the Clippers had given up on their playoff hopes, instead, looking to keep their first round draft pick. The decline never came, replaced with an 18-9 record to close out the season.

The Clippers haven’t been secretive in their desire to lure a big-name free agent to their squad this coming summer. Following a culture-setting season filled with incredible performances and unexpected comebacks, they’re in as good a position as any to make some splashes. Here are the top 10 moments of their season.
