4. Jokic buzzer-beater spoils Luka’s moment

In their final regular season meeting in March, two of the league’s breakout players, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic, squared off for what would be one of the Nuggets’ most thrilling games of the regular season.

On the Dallas Mavericks’ final possession of the game, Doncic converted what looked to be a walk-off poster to quiet the Pepsi Center crowd. With just 5 seconds left, the Denver Nuggets cleared it out and let Nikola Jokic go to work.

Jokic downed the game winning shot over Dwight Powell to spoil Dallas’ night, adding yet another clutch moment to his resume, spoiling what should’ve been Doncic’s big moment after the Rookie of the Year frontrunner missed a key free throw to put it away.

The Joker sealed the victory for Denver, but the game also featured a vintage Paul Millsap performance, as he scored a team-high 33 points on 14-of-19 shooting from the field.
