3. Sekou Doumbouya

Sekou Doumbouya is an interesting prospect because not many people have seen him play. The 6’9″ forward from France has spent his entire playing career overseas and away from the eyes of the casual fan. However, he hasn’t been overlooked by NBA scouts.

Ranked as the top international prospect in the 2019 NBA Draft, Doumbouya has clearly done something to impress scouts. He has a lanky frame but still possesses enough bulk and mass to be a bully on the court. He is most impressive on the defensive end and moving in transition.

Sekou has drawn comparisons to current MVP candidate, Giannis Antetkounmpo. Both of these players have unique physical frames and began their career’s overseas. It would obviously take a lot for Sekou to turn into the beast that Giannis is now, but earning the comparison is a compliment in itself.

This is a prospect that would be very risky at No. 5. It’s hard to tell what type of player he will turn into when he comes to the big leagues. At 18 years of age, he has much to prove, but certainly has a ton of upside as well.
