2. Daquan Jeffries

Not many readers will know of Daquan Jeffries, but they’d locate him pretty quickly in a Sixers uniform. At 6’5″ with a 7’0″ wingspan, Jeffries is a big boy with the defensive grit Philly fans adore.

Jeffries’s 230-pound frame is nothing to scoff at; he utilizes every inch and pound of his body to match up with defenders across the positional spectrum. As a result, he averaged 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals per game last season, exhibiting the versatility coaches love.

He was big and strong enough to slide to the 4 for most of Tulsa’s season, making him an attractive choice for a team looking to potentially use him as a small-ball 5.

Offensively he’s no menace, but he’s not a liability either. As a complementary player at Tulsa, he hit 36.6 percent of his 4.0 3-point attempts per game, good enough to keep defenses honest. When closed out by a defender, Jeffries made the right reads and maintained an assist-to-turnover ratio over 1.0.

Brett Brown loves defenders, so he certainly wouldn’t hate this selection. Jeffries can come in and be a true pest for opposing stars, which will give Philly’s own stars a breather on the less glamorous end.
