Due to the large sums of money the Philadelphia 76ers will have to spend on free agents in July, they must hit on their picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. Here are five candidates to satisfy that need at pick No. 33.

After all those years of tanking and redistributing assets, most would be quick to think the Philadelphia 76ers shouldn’t need to worry about the NBA Draft anymore.

But once again, the 76ers prove to be one of the most unique teams in the NBA. Although they cashed in a myriad of assets for Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris, their work is far from done in constructing the roster.

Even if Philly can retain those two in July, there are still tons of holes to fill off the bench. Losing one of J.J. Redick, Mike Scott or James Ennis III is more of a reality than one would think. They’re all good players, and will all get pay raises when the time comes.

So in the event that Sixers’ brass can predict that reality, they must account for these losses in the form of cheap labor. If a team can hit on a draft pick, that player almost certainly exceeds his cap hit. On a team that’s about to invest most of its cap space into two players, those value hits are necessary.

In order for the Sixers to maximize the value of pick No. 33, here are five potential draftees.
