Pros

One of the first things that jump out when examining De’Andre Hunter is his physical attributes. A 6’8″ beast with a 7’0″ wingspan is a perfect body type for an NBA player. Hunter combines his length with above-average speed and athleticism.

As a sophomore, Hunter averaged 15.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He rarely took shots out of his comfort zone, shooting 52.0 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from the 3-point line on 2.8 attempts per game.

When he makes up his mind to attack a defense, there isn’t much an opponent can do to stop him. He has a quick first step and is great at using his long arms to reach around defenders and finish around the rim.

Hunter displayed great leadership during his time in college, acting as a key member to Virginia’s 2019 National Championship win. Overall, he has won multiple collegiate awards such as the Sixth Man of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, as well as being a member of both the 2018-19 All-Tournament and ACC All-Defensive teams.

He has an unselfish attitude and is willing to do the dirty work if that’s what the team asks of him. Rebounding, passing and defending are all things that Hunter is talented at and this will prove valuable to every NBA team.
