4. Jaxson Hayes

There is a 99.9 percent chance that the New York Knicks select a wing player with the third overall pick in the draft, but if they decide to go the opposite way, Jaxson Hayes is definitely one option to consider.

Hayes is by far the best big man in this year’s NBA Draft and seems like a very safe choice. He is already a top-notch defender whose floor in the NBA seems to be something in the range of DeAndre Jordan.

But his ceiling could help him become a top scorer in the NBA. During the 2018-19 NCAA season, Hayes shot a remarkable 72.8 percent from the field, ranking him second in the entire nation, trailing only the 7’6” Tacko Fall.

Even though Hayes does not yet have that outside shot in his arsenal, his 74 percent shooting from the free throw line certainly indicates that he has a good touch and has the potential to add another weapon to his arsenal.

They say offense wins games but defense wins championships. Pairing up Jaxson Hayes with Mitchell Robinson is without a doubt a great recipe to have an incredible defensive presence at the frontcourt spots for years to come.
