5. Kyrie tops the Raps and records a career-high 18 assists

Picking up right where he left off from the team’s overtime win against Toronto earlier in the season, Kyrie Irving showed no mercy on Toronto Raptors defenders and dropped 27 points with a career-high 18 assists in a mid-January matchup.

It was the Celtics’ second win in three contests against Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors, and it bolstered Boston, which was in the midst of a three-game losing streak with all three losses coming against bottom-of-the-pack Eastern Conference teams. The skid brought the Celtics down to fifth in the conference, but the win against Toronto would be the first of five straight wins.

Kyrie’s 27 and Al Horford’s 24 points helped the team survive a 33-point performance from Kawhi Leonard, and Irving’s final dimes to Al Horford late in the fourth were the exclamation points to another outstanding performance.
