6. Gordon Hayward drops a season-high 35 points off the bench

One of the more satisfying moments during the regular season for Boston fans — and Gordon Hayward fans — was Hayward’s breakout game at the start of the new year, where he exploded for 35 points off the bench of 14-of-18 shooting against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

There were questions if Hayward would ever return to his full form as a lethal scorer, the way we saw in his time with the Utah Jazz. Those concerns were answered on Jan. 2 at the TD Garden.

With thunderous dunks, step-back Js, and and stop-and-pop jumpers, Hayward joined some unique company earlier this season. His 35 off the bench would make him one of four players in 2018-19 to drop 35 or more off the bench.

The other great bench scoring performances this season included 35 points from Dwyane Wade back in November, Lou Williams on four separate occasions (45, 40, 39, and 36), and an astounding 51 from Jamal Crawford on April 9.
